Unheeled

I don't think it's a coincidence that I often type a mildly naughty word instead of heel. My friendship with Devon was born of my first failed heel, and now Jessi is trying to help with the first toe-up short row heel, which after chatting with the pattern writer, I fear is a bigger mess than I thought. (Are the pictures any help at all? Can anyone see what I've done wrong!?)

However, the pretty little sock will have until Friday or Saturday to be heeled (that's for you, Anne!), as when I head home this afternoon, I'll have to finish packing and head to the airport. Cookbook University, here I come! I'm very sorry I won't get to see any of Nashville while I'm there. It's been over a decade since I've had time to putz around that city.

Oh - and someone remind me on Friday to submit my Short Story first line for the contest, okay?

I really like that pattern - I could swear its the same pattern jessi's doing. If not it's very similar..

Hello, my friend!

I love the color of the sock you're doing, but I wouldn't know if you've done something wrong by the pic. I have to see/feel the object to tell you that.

I dyed LOTS of yarn this weekend. Still trying to master the perfect sage, but I did get a nice green. I tried some new technique to get some varigated looks in the yarn. The green probably has the most variations within the skein. I'm going to email a pic to you once it's dry and skeined. This may not be until after my trip, but you get 1st dibs if you like it. If you pass, then I'll continue on my mission for the perfect sage with you in mind.

Also did a blue, but it is like a bright sky blue. I'll email you that one, too.

If we don't chat before I leave on Thurs morning, have a fantastic trip! We'll "meet" again next week. I'm home on Tuesday.

I'm planning on casting on for another pair of Tofutsies as well. But haven't settled on the pattern just yet.

I saw a pair of these in the pattern of the month over the weekend... they look great! The colorway's not so much for me, but the pattern looked really cool. Enjoy them!

I really can't see any mistake on these pics - just a sock that's going to look absolutely amazing in this colorway! The pattern is gorgeous too!

What's wrong?!? I love that you don't have to pick up stitches on toe-up heels! Hope you make it thru!!

Have safe travels and can't wait to see your finished socks. You can do it!! :o)

I wish I could tell you what you have done by the photo, but perhaps with the instructions I can make a go at helping. It is really looking lovely! I do hope that you have a lovely trip.
